Six children of the Mark and Joyce (Oginsky) Bryant family of Eggleston, Virginia went to their heavenly home on Saturday evening September 3, 2005. They died as the result of an explosion at the home where they were visiting. They are Rebekah Marie Bryant, age 19; Joseph Thomas Bryant, age 10; Nehemiah Henry Bryant, age 9; Martina Grace Bryant, age 7; David Kostanty Bryant, age 4; Isaac Jackson Bryant, age 2

Funeral services will be conducted at Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, VA on Sunday September 11, 2005 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday afternoon from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Steele Family Cemetery at Newport, VA.

Rebekah was looking forward to starting college then going to Nursing School. She was a talented singer.

Joseph was eagerly anticipating playing football this fall. He was a very faithful person and loved to minister to others.

Nehemiah was anticipating being on the soccer team. He was very intelligent and the family thought he’d be their doctor someday.

Martina was looking forward to school and could always be heard singing hymns while she was at play. She had grown her hair specifically to donate to the “locks of love”.

David and Isaac greeted each day with enthusiasm and were hearty in their play. It was not uncommon for them to end up very dirty at the end of the day.

They were a very close family and all the children considered church a very important thing in their lives. They were active in church and loved to sing the songs of the church.

Survivors include their parents, Mark and Joyce Bryant; two sisters Kameron Elizabeth Bryant and Sarah Judith Bryant; a brother Jonathan Caleb Bryant all of Eggleston, VA; grandparents Dr. Joe Ray and Elizabeth Bryant of Virginia and Henry “Hank” Oginsky of Lennon, Michigan; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. They were predeceased by grandmother, Lorraine Oginsky, aunt, Shirley Mayer; and uncle Jerome Kuchar.

A Bryant Family Memorial Fund has been established at Riverview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 206 in Ripplemead, VA 24150, in lieu of flowers.
