Jacob Ray Roe

Jacob Ray Roe, 45, of Ripplemead, departed this life Saturday evening, January 26, 2013 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Abingdon, VA on April 29, 1967 he was a son of Margaret Henry Roe of Abingdon and the late Donald Louis Roe. He was employed at the Celanese Plant at Narrows as a Project Engineer and was a graduate of Abingdon High School, Virginia Highlands Community College, and UNCC. Jacob was a devoted Christian and attended Blacksburg Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of fifteen years Dianne Stafford Roe; his son Jacob Ethan Roe of the home; his brother Daniel and wife Debbie Roe of Bristol; his sister Shannon Miniuk of Fredericksburg; his father-in –law and mother-in-law Dr. William D. and Sandra Stafford of Narrows; his sisters-in-law Katrina and Steve White of Salem, David Stafford and fiancée Cindy Owen of Pulaski; his nieces and nephews Nathan White, Bart Stafford, Lindsey Stafford, and McKenzie Miniuk; and his pug, Jaxon.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 am in Riverview Baptist Church, Ripplemead with the Rev. Thomas R. McDearis and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery above Narrows on Wolf Creek. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm. Flowers are welcome but contributions may be made to the Jacob Roe Scholarship for Engineering at Giles High School in care of Kendall Funeral Home, P O Box 38, Pembroke, VA 24136.
