Myrtle Sue Sweeney Folden, 82, of Roanoke and formerly of Pembroke died Wednesday August 3, 2005 at Berkshire Nursing Center inVinton. She was retired from the Marriott Inn in Blacksburg. “Tootsie” as she was affectionately known was preceded in death by her first husband Clarence Allen Sweeney, her mother and father, Tom Price and Robia Graham Price Jearls, two sisters Pauline Price and Janie Jearls.
Sue leaves to cherish her memory her second husband Paul Folden of Roanoke; four children: one daughter and son-in-law Elaine S. and Carl Howell of Pearisburg; three sons and daughters-in-law: Tom and Betty Sweeney of Timpson, TX, Wayne and Nancy Sweeney of Montvale, and David and Juanita Sweeney of Eggleston. Sue is also survived by three sisters: Claire Martin, Nora Monger and Linda Hager and four step-children. Sue also leaves to cherish her memory ten wonderful grandchildren and six wonderful great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also has gone to be with another great-grandchild in heaven, “Little Angel”. Dominick, who preceded her in death on June 1, 2005.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 6, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
