Robert Kerr Huffman (Bobby Kerr), 71, of Happy Hollow Road in Craig County, departed this life Saturday morning, December 3, 2011 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Radford. Born in Craig County on March 26, 1940, he was a son of the late Howard M. and Venus Osborne Huffman. He enjoyed his work as a heavy equipment operator for VDOT and previously a pulp-wood hauler, and for many years was the fire chief at the Simmonsville Volunteer Fire Department. A sister, Geraldine Harless preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Alma Martin Huffman; his daughters Deborah Hall (Anthony) of Radford, Lisa Bradford (John) of New Castle, Robin Houston of Pearisburg, April Fisher (Allen Moore) of Christiansburg, Hope Huffman of New Castle; his beloved grandchildren Adam Shephard, Ciara Burton, Shianne Bradford, Tiffany Houston, Tyra Houston, Brittany, Paige, and Ethan Fisher (triplets); his great-grandchildren Hannah Shephard, Joe Shephard, Olivia Burton, Addison Burton; his brothers Howard Huffman, Jr. of Salem, Charles Huffman of Newport; his sisters Claudine Estes of Newport, Jacqueline Rose of Newport.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the family cemetery in Craig County.
