John Randolph Sadler “Randy”, 77, of Pleasant Hill Drive in Pembroke departed this life Monday at Montgomery Regional Hospital after a long illness. Born in Giles County on February 22, 1932, he was a son of the late Bittle King, Sr, and Lula Mae Harris Sadler. He was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows, was a veteran of the U S Army, Korean Conflict, and was a member of Mt. View United Methodist Church at Guinea Mountain. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bascum Sadler and Walter L. Sadler and a sister Georgia Stephens.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife Lois “Susie” Stump Sadler; his sons David R. “Chuck” and Melissa Sadler of Pembroke, Kevin and Karen Sadler of Blacksburg, Eric Sadler and his friend Michelle Caldwell of Blacksburg; his granddaughters Jessica Sadler and Sarah Sadler; his brothers B.K.Sadler, Jr. of Pearisburg and Charles H Sadler (Freda) of Pulaski; his sisters Josephine S. Johnston of Pembroke, Rhoda S. Stephens of Eggleston, and Alice S. Hamblin (RB) of Pembroke.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall and Pastor Paula Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
