On Saturday, March 12, 2005, four days after her ninety-first birthday, Nona Frye Link Marshall of Narrows passed into eternal rest with Jesus Christ in a Richmond hospital. Born Nona Craig Frye to Alma Mae Hutchison Frye and William Henry Frye on March 8, 1914 at Kimballton in Giles County, she was the widow of Walter Clifton Link and Ted Henry Marshall. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she has spent the last eighteen months in Chesterfield in the care of her son and his family. She was preceded in death by a daughter Winters Lawrence Shinall. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Henrietta Denise Marshall of Narrows, Lilly Link Ganoe and her husband Bub; son Walter Curtis Link and his wife Dona; three grandchildren Gail Lawrence Yoss and her husband Chris, Wendellyn Link Routhier and her husband Kevin and Walter Curtis Link, Jr.; ten great-grandchildren Chad Christian Yoss and wife JoAnn, Amara Yoss Holder and husband Justin and Caleb, Josiah, Jordan, Luke, Noah, Jonathan, David and Daniel Routhier and two Great-great-grandsons Nickolas Christian Yoss and Justin Edward Holder, II all of Chesterfield. She is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews. Mrs. Marshall was retired from Celanese Corporation and for many years was a faithful member of the First Church of God in Rich Creek. The family will welcome visitors on Sunday March 13th for 5 to 8 PM at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke where a service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday March 14th at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
