Andrew Theodore Taylor, “Andy”, “Buster”. 72. of Blankenship Mountain Road, Narrows, departed this life Saturday morning, December 30, 2017 in Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA following a long and hard battle with lung disease. Born on June 6, 1945 in Pearisburg he was a son of the late Theodore Andrew “Slick” Taylor and Lillie Mills “Toy” Taylor Meadows. Andy was a faithful and devoted member of the family of faith at Bethel Chapel in Clendennin serving the people as their sound tech; was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows with over thirty years service; was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Peggy Darlene Stafford, and a little dog he dearly loved “Prissy”
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Carol Blankenship Taylor; his daughters and sons-in-law Terri and Matt Addison of Narrows and Stacey and Jeff Ward of Mountain Home, AR; his brother and sister-in-law Ricky and Sandy Taylor of Narrows; his sister Phyllis “Susie” Harvey of Chesterfield; his brothers and sisters-in-law James and Ardis Blankenship of Narrows and Linda and Terry Pruitt of Dublin; several nieces and nephews; and his canine friend “Roscoe”.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Bethel Chapel at Clendennin with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Memory Gardens at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services.
