Ted Eugene Lafon, 82, of Pearisburg, VA (Bluff City) departed this life Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017, at the home of his daughter after a long illness. Born on July 12, 1935, in Giles County he was a son of the late Houston and Lorine Taylor Lafon. He was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows and had been employed at the L & M Tannery and The Town of Pearisburg. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg and a strong supporter of Giles High School Spartan Football. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Jo Snider Lafon, his sister Betty Hobbs and his brother Douglas Lafon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law Michael E and Lora A Lafon of Pearisburg; his daughter and caregiver Lisa Robbins of Pearisburg; his grandchildren and their spouses Sarah N Trent and Dustin of Pearisburg, Daniel E Lafon and Jacqualine of CT, and Casey A Lafon and Christina of Pearisburg; his great-grandchildren Bentley Gross, Braden Trent, Raelynn Trent, Henry Lafon, Joey Lafon, Jonah Lafon, and Katelyn Spangler; his sisters Peggy Lucas of Pearisburg and Madeline Wimmer of Pearisburg; his very special family friend Rodney Freeman of Pembroke; his special nephew Andy Richards and his sons Michael and Isaiah; and his beloved sisters-in-law Jean Trenor of Ripplemead and Jessie Jamison of Pembroke.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke at 2:00 pm with Pastor Fred Austin and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services.
