Sylvia Belle Williams

Sylvia Belle Weiss Williams, 94, of the Maybrook Community, Pembroke, departed this life quietly and at peace, Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Pearisburg. Born on November 23, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Sadie Stiff Weiss of Bellsprings. She was a graduate of Bellsprings High School, helped her husband in their store and was a devoted member of Pearisburg Baptist Church as long as it was open. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everette Noel Williams, her granddaughter Shanna Williams, her brothers Norman, Junior, Howard, and Billy Weiss, and her sisters Cecelia Ludwig and Lois Gilmore.

Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory her son Marshall L Williams of Maybrook; Phyllis W Fleeman and her husband Charles of Pearisburg and Jackie W Caldwell and her husband Billy of Christiansburg. her grandchildren C R Fleeman (Debra), Cindy Ratcliffe (Rick), Barbara Raines (SD), Kenneth Caldwell (Carol), Tammy Caldwell, Krista Howell (Thomas) and Chad Williams (Malory); her thirteen great-grandchildren; her sisters Martha W Dobbins and Mary Ann W Gardner; her sisters-in-law Georgia Williams of Maybrook and Doris Williams of Narrows; several loving nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Heritage Hall Rich Creek, the home health and hospice staff and the doctors and nurses who so compassionately took care of our mother and grandmother and sister Sylvia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the former Pearisburg Baptist Church sanctuary (600 Tazewell Ave) with Pastor Jeremy Quest officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery at Newport, VA. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services.
