Allen Dale Williams, 67, of Brickyard Road, Pembroke, departed this life Tuesday morning, August 1, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His faith and trust in the Lord was remarkable in the face of his sufferings and he inspired others to more faith. Born in Christiansburg on December 15, 1949, he was a son of the late Jim Bill and Laura Belle Myers Williams. Allen Dale had served Giles County as a deputy sheriff for 25 years, had been a school bus driver for many years making his mark on childrens lives as he drove, and had been employed with McCall Motors in Pembroke as well. He expressed his faith as a devoted charter member and elder in Calvary Christian Church in Pembroke. He was a member of Castle Rock Lodge No 334 AF&AM in Pembroke and The Royal Arch Chapter 29 in Pearisburg. He was preceded in death by his brother J B Williams and infant brother David Swanson Williams, and his sister Brenda Gail Vaught.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and faithful wife of 43 yrs, Jill Stump Williams; his loving daughter Lorie Williams and her friend Wiley Hagy, IV; his sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth Ann and Greg Williams of Pembroke; his sister and brother in laws Thelma and Mike Yost; and a host of loving nieces and nephews and special great nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, August 6, 2017, at 3:00 pm in The First United Methodist Church at Pembroke with Pastors David Kessinger and Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services and afterwards also. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Calvary Christian Church or Giles County Bible Bus or charity of choice.
