Inez Gay Vaught

Inez Gay Vaught, 95, of Virginia Ave, Pembroke departed this life for her heavenly home, Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2015 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Floyd County on October 19, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Wyatt Lynch and Maude Akers Duncan. She was a graduate of Willis High School in Floyd Co. and has spent her long and blessed life in the services of her God, her family, and church. Inez became a Christian over 83 yrs ago and remained true to her faith her whole life. She faithfully attended the Full Gospel Church of God where her husband served as pastor, supporting him in the ministry and lending her beautiful voice to the worship services, radio programs and nursing home ministries in song and praise, all the while raising her five children, managing the chores of a farm wife and caring for several foster children. She was preceded in death by her husband the Rev. Virgil V. Vaught, her son Donald Vaught, her brother Asa Duncan, and her sister Ethel Viers.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lois Vaught Bryant of Pembroke; her sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Carol Vaught of Rich Creek, Keith and Debby Vaught of Max Meadows, Chester and Diane Vaught of Skippers; her brother and sister-in-law Lawrence and Janice Duncan of Collinsville; her sisters and brother-in-law Roxie Martin of Parkersburg, WV, Danie Viers of Radford, and Eula and Bobby Farmer of Radford; her eleven grandchildren, her sixteen great-grandchildren, and all the foster children and children that she cared for in her home as if they belonged to her.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
