Ethel Jane Turpin, 68, of Guinea Mt. Road near Pearisburg went to be with her Lord on Thursday afternoon, February 9, 2006 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Giles County on March 11, 1937 ahw was a daughter of the late Mose and Nancy Dalton Ratcliff. She was preceded in death by three sisters Virginia Gilmer, Nellie Shepard, and Carrie Blackwell and one brother Harliss Ratcliff.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of forty-nine years Eugene Turpin; a son and daughter-in-law Donald and Teri Turpin of Dothan, Alabama; two daughters and sons-in-law Connine and David Sexton, of Pearisburg, Maggie and Donnie Sadler of Pearisburg; six grandchildren Heather Smith, Ryan Turpin, Corey Turpin, Christian Meredith, Jason Dadler, Rhonda Duncan; six great-grandchildren Maverick and Olivia Smith, Logan and Makayla Meredith, Destiny Sadler and Brian (BJ) Duncan; two step-grandchildren Michael Sadler and Leslie Riggs; four step-grandchildren Julie and Christopher Riggs, Dakota and Justice Sadler; a brother Raymond Ratcliff of Richmond; special friends Banie Dowdy, William Banks, Johnny Crockett and many others.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall, Pastor Darin Whitt, Rev. Albert Carroll, and Alvin Trivett officiating. Burial was in the Staffordsville Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
