Thelma Marie Lucado of Lucado Hollow Road, Pearisburg (Burton) departed this life for her heavenly home Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home. Born in Copper Hill, TN on September 22, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Jewell and Liza Jane Houghest Anderson. Thelma was a woman of faith and principles, a devout Pentecostal Christian (attended Bethel Chapel and most recently Sinking Creek Church of God (Mt Assembly) at Pembroke) and a beloved mother, not only to her own family but also to many adult foster care patients. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene Joseph Lucado and a son Wayne E. Lucado.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Daniel Joseph Lucado (Elsie Mae) of Narrows and Steven Andrew Lucado of Buchanan; her daughters Sylvia Jean Pack (Donald) of Pearisburg, Frances Elaine Oyler (Richard) of Hillsboro, WV, Evelyn Marie Marion (Frank)of Bear Spring; her brother Charles Edward Anderson of Lakeland, FL, her sisters Hazel Toppa of Baltimore, MD and Shirley Ann Stachs of Baltimore, MD; her eight grandchildren; her seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 2, 2015 at 1 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
