The Rev. Barbara Joyce Kingrea Wilson (Patrick), 75, of Dublin departed this life for her heavenly home Friday evening, March 7, 2014 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA after a short illness. Born in Eggleston on December 30, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Roscoe and Alice Trump Kingrea. “Sister Barbara” was a gifted evangelist and pastor in The Church of God for over forty years. While stationed with her late husband, Don Wilson, in Germany (U S Army) she was instrumental in founding a church there and pastored the Pearisburg Church of God for seventeen years prior to going back on the road as an evangelist, and working with her husband, the Rev. Thomas Patrick, in pastoring First Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church in Blountville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Don Wilson, and her brother Billy John Kingrea.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband the Rev. Thomas A. Patrick of Bluefield, VA; her son and daughter-in-law Paul Ray and Cynthia Lynn Tyrrell Wilson of Elysian, MN; her daughter and son-in-law Virginia Carmel and Harold Dean Spradlin of Riner; her brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby Ray and Virgie Kingrea of Dublin, George Eddie and Cheryl Kingrea of Pearisburg, Jack Eller and Marilyn Kingrea of Pearisburg; her sister Eloise Troutt of Dublin; her step-grandchildren Laura Lundahl and Brandon Spradlin; her step-great-grandchildren Zach, Hannah, Mason, and Lilly Spradlin.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday evening at 8 pm at the Dublin Church of God. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 pm until 8 pm before the services. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10 pm in the Fletcher Cemetery on Fletchers Mt Road, Pearisburg. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
